I had to leave the GBL conference early as my school had had that call! Yes the one that said OFSTED were arriving the next week. I really wanted them to observe the Games based learning that we are currently doing with the DS console and Brain Training programme in the classroom, however, I was slightly worried that they may not 'get' it!
However they did! Praising us for the innovative use of hand held technology to promote learning in the classroom. The full report can be seen here:

Some may argue that validations from such professional bodies are not needed, and that the learning that is occurring in the classroom as a result of the games being used is validation enough. I would agree, however, it also points out that innovation can sit well within the checklist of inspections.
We are continuing with our game based experience, with a Professor layton project in a couple of weeks, Tim Rylands coming in to school to deliver training and Wiis in the curriuclum from September.
