I am happy to talk about one key idea led me as a teacher for 10 years - "The person who really gets to "learn" the most from a game (CD/Website/blog etc.) is the person who makes it" - and that goes for teachers as much as pupils.

I can talk about a Year 4 class and their "teachers guide to Sim City", Year 5's that took on all comers through robots they programmed, and how they made their own online games in FLASH and Gamemaker..... a LONG LONG TIME AGO!

Why is it that some ideas move so slow in education?

I can also share my passion for an idea I have to perhaps make the move from marginal to mainstream quicker and I can also talk about the amazing experience of "home educating" - and the completely new perspective it has given me as an educator and as a citizen.
